We are one of only eight percent of hospitals in the country to achieve this status, which is the highest honor given for nursing in the United States. For eleven years in a row, NEBH has been awarded the prestigious Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award. The Award recognizes top-performing hospitals that sustain the highest level of national performance, ranking in the 95th percentile or higher for patient satisfaction for at least three consecutive years. NEBH is the only hospital in New England to receive this award eleven years in a row.
NEBH has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement. The advanced certification is for Joint Commission-accredited hospitals seeking to elevate the quality, consistency, and safety of patient care. NEBH is the only hospital in Boston to achieve this designation.
NEBH underwent a rigorous review to earn the advanced surgical certification. Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with advanced disease-specific care standards, as well as total hip and total knee replacement requirements. These requirements include orthopedic consultation and pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-surgical orthopedic care.
New England Baptist Hospital received the top rating of “High Performing” for both hip and knee replacement. This rating is given to hospitals that exceed expected standards of care.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have a five star rating tool that allows patients and their families to compare hospitals based on their overall rating. New England Baptist Hospital is the only hospital in Massachusetts to receive the top score of five stars.
NEBH received the Premier HIIN (Hospital Improvement Innovation Network) Award for Excellence in Patient Safety Across the Board. This award acknowledges NEBH’s achievement of exceptional performance and participation in the Premier HIIN. Excellence in Patient Safety Across the Board (SAB) refers to an organization’s commitment at all levels to a culture of patient safety, from day-to-day operations through actions and execution.

In 2019-2020, New England Baptist Hospital has been recognized as one of the best hospitals in the country for orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report. The annual U.S. News Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 30th year, recognize hospitals that excel in treating the most challenging patients.

NEBH was recognized among the Top 10% of hospitals in the nation for patient safety. This award distinguishes NEBH as an excellent performer in safeguarding patients from serious, potentially preventable complications during their hospital stays.
2017 Outstanding Patient Experience Award
NEBH was recognized among the top 15% of hospitals in the nation for patient experience. This award was given to the highest performers according to survey responses collected from patients after discharge. These responses were used to assess performance based on a patient’s perspective of care.
NEBH received the first ever Cherished Neighborhood Asset Award from Mission Hill Main Streets. This award honors a local institution that consistently demonstrates neighborliness to the Mission Hill Community.
