Experienced instructors will lead you through targeted exercises focusing on flexibility, strength, stability, and balance in our state-of-the-art Sports Performance Center, allowing you to navigate moguls, turns, and jumps once on the mountain.

Program Goals

Flexibility
Flexibility and range of motion in the ankles, hips, and back are essential for skiers. Specific stretches will be taught to address muscle tightness that may be contributing to individual imbalances. Each skier will learn a program focused on these key areas, which can be incorporated into your pre and post skiing routine as instructors will develop individualized home programs.

Strength and Core Stability
Ski specific strength and stability exercises will help you improve control and form through inconsistent conditions.

Balance
Balance training will improve reactive skills essential to navigating unpredictable conditions and challenging terrain on the mountain.

Cardiovascular Endurance
If you want to get the first chair and ski long runs all day long, then cardiovascular endurance is key. Having endurance can also reduce your risk of injuries as you are able to maintain good mechanics throughout your day on the slopes. Endurance is built through the pace and intensity of exercises during each session.

Injury Prevention

Traumatic knee injuries are commonly experienced by skiers, and can include but are not limited to sprains or tears of the medial collateral ligament (MCL), anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), or meniscus. To reduce the risk of sustaining these injuries, special focus will be placed on dynamic strengthening of the knee and hip musculature. Instructors will also lead you through ski specific exercises to prepare your whole body for the rigors of skiing.

Return from Injury

Athletes returning from an injury will work with our instructors to transition from a traditional post-injury routine to a ski specific training program. Our instructors will guide you in strength and conditioning exercises while paying special attention to strength or movement deficits related to your injury.

Group sizes are limited to four people per instructor so that personal needs can be addressed. Sessions are one hour long and meet twice a week for four weeks. One-on-one sessions are available if preferred.
