Maintaining Motion Knee Replacement Program

After completing a physical therapy program following your knee replacement, in order to reach your maximum potential it is recommended that you continue with your exercise program at home.

The Maintaining Motion Knee Replacement Program is for those who want to continue their exercises under the direction of the NEBH physical therapy team.

The program begins with an initial phone evaluation with a certified athletic trainer. You will discuss your current status, history since completing the physical therapy program and your goals.

Once enrolled, you will have hour-long workout sessions with a certified athletic trainer. One – three sessions available per week.

Strength and Flexibility Training

Strength and flexibility training for your knee will be targeted through:

  • Static Stretches
  • Dynamic Stretches
  • Exercise Circuit
  • Education will be included, with customized home exercise programs created for individual use outside of the program

Participants

This program is for those who have undergone a total knee replacement and completed a physical therapy program at NEBH within the past three months and do not have new or worsening pain.


Program Format

Group size is limited to five people per instructor so personal needs can be addressed. One-on-one sessions are available if preferred, or if recommended by physical therapist.
