The Rose Society

It is a small touch, but a meaningful one-every patient at New England Baptist Hospital receives a fresh rose upon discharge, symbolizing our distinctive patient care. The tradition dates to 1958, when Carl J.B. Currie, hospital trustee and benefactor, established the Carl J.B. Currie and Olive Currie Rose Fund to ensure the tradition carries on in perpetuity. It is a gesture that symbolizes the Baptist’s commitment to warm, personalized care and legendary service.

Annual Fund donors of more than $1,000 per year become members of the Rose Society. The Rose Society is comprised of New England Baptist’s most loyal and engaged supporters—donors at the leadership level who are key to the hospital’s success now and in the future. Support from Rose Society members provides vital unrestricted funding for the projects and priorities that are of strategic importance to the hospital and that have set the Baptist apart for more than a century.
