New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH) held its 2019 Gala on Tuesday, May 7th at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. The annual Gala celebrated the “art of movement;” highlighting the important contributions of the physicians, caregivers, and partners who make it possible for the hospital’s patients to live in motion.
The evening included special remarks by grateful NEBH patient Chris Davis, Vice President for Global Marketing at New Balance. Live music was performed by local musical acts Manouche Urbain, Aimee Doherty, and Emma Cook and Questionable Company.
With 115 sponsoring organizations and individuals and nearly 425 supporters attending, the Gala brought together a diverse and notable group of guests, including Boston Celtics legends Leon Powe and M.L. Carr (a NEBH Philanthropy Committee member); prominent newscaster J.C. Monahan; Jay Gonzalez, 2018 Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate; and Dr. Kevin Tabb, President and CEO of Beth Israel Lahey Health, among many other NEBH grateful patients and Boston philanthropists, to celebrate New England’s only hospital dedicated to musculoskeletal care.
The annual Gala is NEBH’s largest annual fundraiser and allows the hospital to grow key clinical programs, provide scholarship support for nurses seeking advanced degrees and certifications, strengthen the hospital’s renowned fellowship training program, and pursue other priorities.
“Today, as part of Beth Israel Lahey Health and with the generous support of philanthropic donors, there is a tremendous opportunity for New England Baptist to bring our exceptional brand of orthopedic care to the entire new system,” said David A. Passafaro, NEBH President. “Our Gala allows us to pause and celebrate the exceptional work of The Baptist caregivers and physicians, and we are exceedingly grateful to all of our sponsors and attendees for helping us advance our mission to help patients live in motion.”
