NEBH #7 Among Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts

New England Baptist Hospital, New England’s only hospital specializing in orthopedic surgery and the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, announced today that under the leadership of President and CEO Trish Hannon, it has been ranked number seven in the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list by the Boston Globe Magazine and the Commonwealth Institute (TCI). The annual list consisted of organizations with the most impressive records of innovation and workplace diversity, as well as revenue and employee numbers.

Under Hannon’s leadership, New England Baptist Hospital has been consistently recognized nationally for its exceptional patient satisfaction and quality outcomes. For the seventh consecutive year, the hospital was awarded the prestigious Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for outstanding patient satisfaction in 2014, ranking in the 95th percentile. Furthermore, the hospital ranked tenth in the country this year for orthopedics by U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best Hospitals. In just three years, NEBH has advanced eighteen spots on the list and continues to have the lowest readmission rates and post-surgical infection rates of any Boston hospital.

“It is an honor to be included in this prestigious group,” said Trish Hannon, president and CEO of New England Baptist Hospital. “The Baptist has a long history of providing outstanding patient care and has earned its excellent reputation within the medical community and with our patients. Our outstanding staff is the driving force behind the hospital’s success, and I am so proud to stand at its helm as NEBH continues its momentum forward as a world-class institution.”

Since 2000, TCI has compiled the annual list to highlight the outstanding achievements of Massachusetts women. In partnership with the Boston Globe Magazine, TCI uses a holistic approach to creating the list. Both for-profit and nonprofit organizations are considered, and while revenue remains an essential component, workplace and board diversity, innovation and the number of full-time employees are also considered.

The Top 100 rankings will be announced at an Oct. 23 breakfast at the Seaport Boston Hotel. The full list and rankings will be published in the Boston Globe Magazine’s Women & Power issue, in print Oct. 25.
