Gala dinner presented by New England Baptist Hospital raises $900,000 for local children’s charities
BOSTON (October 21, 2015) – The Boston Celtics raised more than $900,000 for local children’s charities at their annual Shamrock Gala last night at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel. Proceeds from the event directly benefited partners of the Shamrock Foundation, including Berklee City Music Network, Boston Children’s Hospital, Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, Horizons for Homeless Children, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC), Perkins School for the Blind, Citi Performing Arts Center, Positive Coaching Alliance and The3PointFoundation.
New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH) served as presenting sponsor for the event, and proudly recognized Boston Celtics guard/forward Evan Turner as the recipient of the annual NEBH Community Champion’s Award. The award honors players who display outstanding, continuous and dedicated service to the community through a variety of activities. This year’s award was presented by Dr. Frederick Basilico, physician in chief for medicine at NEBH.
Championship support was also provided by Bain Capital Community Partnership. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation.
