Physiatry Spine Fellowship

Physiatry _Fellowship

The Spine Center at New England Baptist Hospital offers a one-year fellowship designed to develop high level clinical experts in conservative spine care. The fellowship emphasizes obtaining a clear understanding of the pathology and natural history of spinal disorders and the acquisition of high level clinical skills in patient assessment, interpretation of diagnostic studies and execution of an effective treatment plan.

Fellows will evaluate and manage over 1000 patients under the tutelage of 5 spine physiatrists, all whom emphasize patient education, informed decision making, and active, patient oriented treatments. During the fellowship, fellows learn to judiciously use spine interventions and will perform over 500 spine injection procedures under the close supervision of experienced interventionalists.

The Spine Center is committed to multiple academic and research endeavors, and is a major teaching site for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of Harvard Medical School. The fellow is required to actively participate in these academic activities.
