Dr. Sharon Bassi is a board-certified physiatrist at New England Baptist Hospital (NEBH). In addition to her work at NEBH, Dr. Bassi holds an academic appointment as Clinical Instructor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School. She has a passion for teaching fellows and residents and is the Director of Resident Education at the Spine Center.
After earning her medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Bassi completed her training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Harvard Medical School where she served as Chief Resident, earning numerous academic and leadership awards. She then completed a fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) focused on advanced training in non-surgical spine care, resulting in board certification in pain medicine. Dr. Bassi’s clinical interests include the evaluation and treatment of non-surgical musculoskeletal and spine conditions using conservative modalities such as exercise based physical therapy and image guided injections.
She is a member of many professional societies including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Spine Intervention Society, Massachusettes Medical Society, North American Spine Society, and the Association of Academic Physiatrists. Dr. Bassi has been invited to present both nationally and internationally, and has written a number of peer reviewed publications.
