Arthur F. Christiano, M.D. is Surgical Director of the New England Baptist Outpatient Care Center in Partnership with Shields Health Care Group. In this role he is responsible for directing surgical operations and ensuring the quality, safety, efficiency, reliability, and affordability of surgical care.

Dr. Christiano is a member of a number of professional societies, including the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, New England Shoulder and Elbow Society, and is an Associate Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has been recognized and awarded with a number of honors, including the Vitals.com Patients’ Choice Award (2012).

Dr. Christiano is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery for Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his internship in general surgery/orthopaedic surgery at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. He underwent his residency in orthopaedic surgery and pediatric orthopaedic rotation from Monmouth Medical Center and The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He then went on to complete his fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Christiano is affiliated with a number of teams including Framingham State University, Boston Junior Bruins, Medfield High School and Medway High School. When not seeing patients, he enjoys working with young kids, all general sports, personal fitness, and golfing.
