New England Baptist Hospital has grown and prospered for more than a century thanks to major gifts from patients, families and friends. The Baptist’s reputation and clinical outcomes are a reflection of the generosity of our loyal supporters. Major gifts to NEBH help sustain a range of patient care initiatives, build and upgrade facilities, fund research, and ensure a permanent endowment.
The Major Gifts team at NEBH works with interested donors to help them advance their philanthropic goals and priorities. While each philanthropic decision is unique, staff assists donors with two broad considerations: the structure of a gift and its purpose.
Major gifts may be designated for current use or toward an endowed fund. Gifts to establish or increase endowed funds are held in perpetuity, with a percentage of the income generated from the gift principal spent each year.
Gifts from individuals, families and family foundations may be made as outright gifts of cash or securities, as pledges payable over a period of time, usually three to five years, and as planned gifts. Most major gifts at the Baptist have an annual fund component as most of our major donors are also annual donors.
