The majority of the investigative work performed at NEBH is outcomes research—studies that track all the details of how care is provided with the goal of developing strategies to improve that care. An objective underway to upgrade the Baptist’s research registry, hospital leadership envisions a new platform with the potential for multiple registries to support outcomes research and translational trials.

“The power of the registry we’re planning is derived from the volume of surgery at the Baptist, the expertise of both the surgical and medical staff and the interesting mix of cases,” explains Gary Schneider, PhD, Chief of Research. “As the registry expands in size, we intend to mine the data to perform exciting new outcomes research.”
