Who We Are

At New England Baptist Hospital, Nursing is grounded in a heritage that provides all patients -- regardless of culture, race, religion, lifestyle and generation -- an environment where Respect, Ownership, Superior Service and Excellence mark their stay. The symbol of these core values -- a rose was first presented to every patient in 1958. We continue that tradition and these values today.

Our heritage guides our Nursing excellence in orthopedic clinical practice and our commitment to a patient-centered culture. Our Nursing practice model embraces the scientific, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual quests our nurses need to provide the care and support each individual needs for their unique health situation. This means our patients benefit not only from the latest therapies and technologies, but also from a relationship that promotes the patient's right to dignity, self-expression, and decision-making around their needs

As part of a community, a community that embraces its neighbors, its colleagues, its shared knowledge, its friendships, its heartaches, its sense of humanity, New England Baptist Hospital is committed to provide a place where excellence, superior service and respect are experienced by every patient and every family.

Vision for Patient Care Services

New England Baptist Hospital's new vision for Patient Care Services emerges out of its established identity of a hospital grounded in providing all patients - regardless of culture, race, religion, lifestyle, and generation - an environment where Respect, Ownership, Superior Service, and Excellence mark their stay.

The symbol of these core values - a rose - was first presented to every patient in 1958. We continue that tradition and these values today. Now, as Patient Care Services moves into a new era of broadened scope, New England Baptist Hospital pledges to provide an environment that is dynamic, inclusive, and supportive of the advancement of professional practice for health care practitioners. This professional environment is one in which practitioners are empowered to: develop their potential, cultivate collaborative efforts, learn best practices, lead quality improvement, provide legendary service, share governance, achieve holistic perspective, and embark on the scientific, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual quests necessary to provide excellence in practice.

As part of a community - one that embraces its neighbors, colleagues, friendships, heartaches, and thrives on its shared knowledge and sense of humanity - New England Baptist Hospital will bring to its professional staff meaningful work in a creative environment that is supported by a strong commitment to staff professional development.

Our vision includes:

  • Caring relationships with individuals, families, communities, and society as a whole

  • Evidence-based practice through research and quality improvement activities to enhance care

  • Advocacy for the patient's individual right to dignity, self-expression, and participation in their care

  • A lifelong commitment to learning and professional growth through internal and external development opportunities that recognizes and rewards competence and contribution and includes a career advancement program

  • A dynamic and supportive environment that provides mentoring and coaching of staff

  • Create a learning culture that includes appropriate resources for development, regular feedback and follow-through

  • A management philosophy that fosters autonomy and accountability in the delivery of patient care including empowerment and support of staff to make informed decisions at the most appropriate level in the organization

  • A performance based environment that establishes clear expectations, accountability, and consequences, including incentive award and recognition of staff

  • Adoption of progressive, quality improvements and standards to ensure a culture of patient safety within a cost-effective delivery model

  • Flexibility and agility to proactively adapt to changes in care, technology, standards, and innovation while maintaining our core values
