Preoperative Education for Arthroplasty

The Arthroplasty Preoperative Education class is designed to prepare you and your family for surgery, recovery, rehabilitation and to initiate comprehensive discharge planning. You will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with a variety of skilled, enthusiastic health care professionals who are committed to supporting the surgical excellence

All patients scheduled for Arthroplasty (hip and knee) joint replacement surgery are encouraged to attend this one and a half hour session.

Taught by the nurses and the therapists who care for total joint replacement patients, the classes contain important information about the surgery, nursing care, physical therapy, orthopedic equipment and discharge planning.

Patients and their guests will have the opportunity to ask questions and talk to the instructors about their concerns.

Scheduling:

Done by your surgeon's office staff.
Classes are held a few times a week, including Saturdays
Sessions are one and a half hour long.

The Spinal Fusion Preoperative Education Program is designed to prepare you and your family for surgery, recovery, rehabilitation and to initiate comprehensive discharge planning.

You will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with a variety of skilled, health care professionals who are committed to supporting the surgical excellence at New England Baptist Hospital.

All patients scheduled for Spinal Fusion surgery and Revision Spinal Fusion surgery are encouraged to attend this one and a half hour session. 

Taught by the nurses and the therapists who care for spine surgery patients, the classes contain important information about the surgery, nursing care, physical therapy, orthopedic equipment and discharge planning.

Patients and their guests will have the opportunity to ask questions and talk to the instructors about their concerns.
