Official Team Hospital of the Seventeen-Time World Champion Boston Celtics

Celebrating 25 Years as the Official Hospital of the Boston Celtics!

New England Baptist Hospital and the Boston Celtics recently announced a multi-year renewal of our partnership. As the official and exclusive Celtics hospital, New England Baptist provides comprehensive medical services to the team, under the direction of Baptist orthopedic surgeon, Brian McKeon, MD, Celtics chief medical officer, cardiologist Frederick C. Basilico, MD, chair, department of medicine and other Baptist physicians.

Under new terms of the partnership, the organizations will increase joint community relations and outreach efforts. The hospital is the co-presenting sponsor of the annual Junior Celtics Leadership Achievement award as well as the official sponsor of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation. The organizations will partner on initiatives focused on childhood obesity, physical fitness and health and wellness. New England Baptist and the Celtics will also team up to hold a variety of community based events throughout the year.

As part of the partnership, the organizations will host a designated New England Baptist night during a Celtics home game, which will include a presentation of the Junior Celtics Leadership Achievement Award. The hospital will also sponsor the "Injury Report" feature during all regular season Celtics home games.

New England Baptist Hospital's ties to sports medicine go back several decades. In the late 1950's Red Sox slugger Ted Williams came to the Baptist for treatment of a cervical disk problem. In the years since, world class and amateur athletes from a variety of sports have sought care from out sports medicine experts, including PGA legend Jack Nicklaus, who had his hip replaced at the Baptist in 1999.
