The Woodard Health Sciences Library offers access to current & evidence-based medical literature & serves the educational and research needs of medical, nursing, administrative and allied health staffs of NEBH.
To support excellence in patient care, the Library strives to provide legendary services to all our patients, visitors & New England Baptist Hospital employees.

Knowledge Management
The Library is a central repository of print and electronic medical literature and resources. Hospital staff have access to electronic resources, journals and databases, through links on the Library Portal

Books & journal articles can be requested. For an interlibrary loan, please provide the following details:

Patient/Family Resources
The Library has easy-to-read health education materials. Medical library staff are able to provide assistance in locating appropriate print and electronic materials to answer health questions and interests. Although the library staff cannot offer medical advice, the health information obtained will allow individuals to discuss their medical concerns in greater detail with their physician.
- Patients, families, and hospital staff are welcome to:
- Browse our collection of consumer health literature covering orthopedic & musculoskeletal conditions
- Take home pamphlets on a variety of orthopedic & musculoskeletal topics
- Read popular health magazines such as Back Letter, Harvard Health Letter, & Prevention Magazine
- View health-related DVDs
- Access online health databases on the public-access computer terminals and link to respected consumer health websites
Continuing Medical Education (CME)
The Library is responsible for the NEBH physician continuing medical education program:
- Plans approximately 100 lectures annually
- Collaborates in organizing NEBH-sponsored CME conferences
- Maintains CME resources including online links to blogs, archived programs, physician licensure requirements & CME program calendar
The Library is staffed by professional medical librarians Monday-Friday 7 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. New England Baptist Hospital employees may access the Library 24 hours a day, seven days a week via ID badge.
