Pain Management
The Pain Management Program at New England Baptist Hospital offers a comprehensive range of services for patients with acute or chronic pain.
At NEBH, our primary concern is the reduction of your pain and the improvement of your quality of life and function. Our team is dedicated to treating you with dignity and respect.
Our clinicians develop individualized care plans for patients with chronic and acute pain syndromes. Patients are assessed and multimodal treatment plans of care including interventional pain management therapies, medication recommendations with monitoring and nursing care (phone calls, etc) are created. We collaborate with multiple disciplines including, physical therapy, orthopedics, neurology, physiatry, behavioral medicine and nursing.
Surgical Pain Management
Our dedicated block team is skilled in placing regional anesthetic blocks for all extremities to manage pain during and after surgery. By combining pain management techniques with anesthesia during surgery, our physicians are able to use less anesthesia and manage the patient’s pain after surgery.
Following surgery, there is a pain management nurse practitioner who consults with the surgeons for patients who are having pain following surgery. Together they are able to develop a personalized pain management plan for each individual patient.
Non-Surgical Pain Management

Patients are referred to the Pain Program by their primary care physician or other physician. Our board-certified pain management anesthesiologists will assess you through interview and physical assessment together with information from your physician and diagnostic reports. A plan of care will be developed mutually with you and your referring physician. Our nursing staff is a vital member of the health care team and will assess your needs and coordinate your care. Thorough assessments, monitoring and teaching is provided by the nursing staff in collaboration with other medical disciplines.
Our administrative staff coordinates your referral information. We have several pain management physicians and our administrative staff schedules your appointments accordingly to provide continuity of care. Written dictated notes are sent to your referring physician(s) to keep them informed of your progress with pain management interventions.
