Musculoskeletal Imaging

The radiologists at New England Baptist Hospital are experts in musculoskeletal imaging, a sub-specialty of radiology that evaluates bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. Musculoskeletal imaging is an integral part of what makes the Baptist an Orthopedic Center of Excellence.

The radiologists at the Baptist perform more musculoskeletal joint procedures, such as joint injections and pain management, than any hospital in the region. This includes CT arthrography and MR arthrography, innovative procedures that create a three-dimensional image of a joint for a more complete interpretation. The Baptist's radiologists have expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound, a rapidly evolving procedure that evaluates tendons and other soft tissue disorders. Additional musculoskeletal procedures performed by Baptist radiologists include bursa and cyst aspirations and injections, tenography, bone densitometry, aspiration and anesthetic challenges for painful joints, along with a range of injections and imaging for patients with prosthetic joints.
